Getting
there
- From Cheras-Kajang highway, take the first turning to he left after passing the toll.
- Go straight till you reach Batu 9 police station where you need to take a left turning.
- Go straight till the end of the road.
Exploring Gunung Nuang

From day one while I start hiking, many hikers has commented that Gunung Nuang is one of the best training ground for Mount Kinabalu preparation. Many of them not able to conguer to the summit due to timing issue, weather condition, traffic jam (too many people on the trail) and persoanl performance.
I have done a good preparation by hiking five mountains in a row on the passed five weeks. Our mission of the day was reach to the summit before 1:00 p.m. (4hours 30 minutes) otherwise we got to start return no matter where we are.
Eight of us start the journey at 7:30 a.m. The first stage (never ending road) was alright for us and met our timing expectation (1hour 50 minutes). From Camp Lolo to Camp Pacat it was little bit toughter as the trail condition was bad and very slippery but still within our time frame (1 hour 20 minutes). We rest at Camp Pacat about 34 minutes, two of our team member decided to not to continue and wait for us at Camp Lolo later.
Six of us continue with the journey (Two of them has been hiked this trail for many times by leading four of us). From Camp Pacat to False Peak it tooks us 2 hours to reach there as the trail was so slippery and muddy. Two friends of mine was continue to summit and while I reack the False Peak it was already 12:45 p.m. waiting for three of them to come. We decided not to conguer this round as timing was not allow us to do that. I would expect it might took us 1~1/2 hour for the team to reach the summit, this was our first trip to Gunung Nuang and would not able to expect how long it takes us to reach the car park.
We rest for 1 hour and started our journey back at 1:55 p.m. From False Peak to Camp Pacat tooks us 50 minutes which I quite satisfied with the timing. From Camp Pacat to Camp Lolo the trail condition was slippery and there was no advantage for me compare up hill and down. The last part of the trail was the worst part and you will notice it why it so called "Never Ending Road".
