Exploring Gunung 6040 and Gunung Tiga Negeri

July, 05~06 2014

Gunung 6040, Gunung Tiga Negeri and Gunung Charlie is one of the famous trail for Trans Titiwangsa which could lead you to Gunung Yong Belar, Gayong and Korbu.

Stage 1 : Start from Blue Valley Dam staircase with more than 200 steps

Stage 2: Pipe walking until you have reached the state boarder, turn to your left and follow the red color pipe

Stage 3: There is a signboard on your left with blue marker after 200 meters piping walk, follow the path would lead you to Gunung 6040

Stage 4: Follow the blue mark and border stone (start from stone no. 20x) with multiple ups and downs would lead you to 6040 peak (Stone no. 6x)

Stage 5: Again follow the blue marker and border stone crossing few false peak end up would lead you to Tiga Negeri (3 boundaries) peak. Gunung Charlie just next to it

Our initial plan for this trip was hike three mountains in one goal and camp in Charlie peak but due to one of the teammate stung by bees just 10 minutes before Gunung 6040 peak, we have changed our plan to camp in Gunung 6040.  After setting up the flysheet, we continue hiked to Gunung Tiga Negeri looking for water source but couldn’t found. Although Gunung Charlie just another 500 meters from us but we have no choice but U turn back.

I would prefer to do a day hike next round which I think could be done within 10~12 hours.

09:18 Start hiking

09:38 Pipe walking

09:50 Border stone

09:55~11:00 Wrong trail (We turned to the left small path too early which also could lead us back to the entrance point of x junction)

11:00 start from x junction

13:30 Lunch break 30 minutes

14:30 Reached Gunung 6040 peak

16:00 Continue to Gunung Tiga Negeri (with two empty bottle)

17:09 Reached Gunung Tiga Negeri Peak

17:30 Unable to find water source and U turn back

18:09 Start from Gunung Tiga Negeri

19:25 Reached Gunung 6040 peak
