Exploring Gunung Benum

August, 12 2017

Gunung Benum is located in Raub district with the high of 2107 meter (6912 feet), the 10th highest mountain in West Malaysia (G10).  As I know there are 2~3 paths could access to the summit either via Lata Berembun (Sg. Klau) or Ulu Cheka (Jerantut).

Gunung Benum is one of the MUST hike mountain in my list in order for me to complete my G10 mountains in West Malaysia. I have been studied the trail few years ago and knowing that day hike is doable but must been very tough.  A credit to HKChin organized a day hike trip on this mountain.

Stage 1: Car Park to Camp Tikus - One river crossing and all the way up

  10. great hike! Just came from mount benom, unable to complete with approximately 600m remaining, ran out of supplies, and the terrain was just dreadful, so many fallen trees and path way was completely block. clearing the path and obstacle climbs really took a toll on us.
