Exploring Trans Bukit Chenuang, Batu Kumbang
June, 03 2018
Bukit Chenuang located in Hulu Langat with the high of 850 meter, a mountain nearby Gunung Nuang. Knowing this mountain since I started my hiking activity in year 2011 but no chance to hike it as Nuang is just next to it.
Thanks for my hiking buddies whos invited me to explore Batu Kumbang together and finally have a chance to explore both "Bukit" in one goal. Bukit Chenuang itself is a very good training ground with reward of great view at the summit. Batu Kumbang provide you a better view but bad trail condition as less people hike.
There are 3 ways could lead you to Bukit Chenuang and Batu Kumbang:-
- From Hutan Lipur Sungai Congkak Zone 6
- From Left junction before the main entrance of Hutan Lipur Sungai Congkak
- From Kemensah (No much information found, but some groups did it)
This time we did from Hutan Lipur Sungai Congkak Zone 6 and exist from Left junction before the main entrance.
Stage 1: Main Entrance Hutan Lipur Sungai Congkak to Zone 6 (1.8 KM)
- Tar road about 1.8 KM distance, you could pay for RM 15.00 and drive you car in till Zone 6 (End of the road). Hiking path is on your left.
Stage 2: Zone 6 to stream crossing
- Flat Jungle trek
Stage 3: Stream Crossing to Bukit Chenuang Summit
- Steep up all the way to summit
Stage 4: Bukit Chenuang Summit to Junction
- All the way descent till the "T" junction with flat area, distance about 1.2 KM. The path condition with of lot falling bamboos.
Stage 5: Junction to Batu Kumbang
- The path condition is bad with falling bamboos, took us 38 minutes to complete the 0.9 KM path.
Stage 6: "T" Junction to Car Park
- Long journey path (6.1 KM) with lots of leeches all the way.
