Exploring Trans Rajah via KKB to Bentong
March, 10 2018
Gunung Rajah, one of the hardcore day hike mountain located in Pahang with the high of 1685 meter (5526 feet). Although the new trail from Kampung Pertak - Kuala Kubu Bharu was explored past 2~3 years ago but I didn't manage to get the chance to try on it. My last hiked to Gunung Rajah was in year 2014 with unforgettable experience stayed overnight in Y river without any preparation.
Doing Trans Rajah the most difficult part is transportation issue, you need to arrange someone drop you / pick up from either end. Thanks for my hiking friends organized this trip and arranged the van transport for drop off and pick up, we parked our in Tesco Taman Midah - Cheras.
Stage 1: Kampung Pertak Car Park - Camp Botol
Same starting point as Bukit Kutu / Lata Medang, a few junctions middle of the path and just keep to your left until the junction to Lata Makau you need to follow the right hand site path till stream crossing.
Stage 2: Camp Botol - Camp Renoma - Camp R&R
A bit up hill about 20~25 minutes to reach each campsite
Stage 3: Camp R&R - Peak Junction - False Peak
All the way up to Peak Junction, up and down till False Peak
Stage 4: False Peak to Rajah Summit
Need some technical skill at the rock area
Stage 5: Summit to False Peak (Bentong trail)
All the way down till Face Rock, again need some technical skill at the rock area follow by ascent to False Peak
Stage 6: False Peak to Camp Hijau - Lata Naning - Y River
All the way down with fast speed (Take note of the water level in Y River)
