Exploring Batu Pecah
February, 18 and 26 2017
I have not visited this place for almost 5 years, the last round was May 2012 which I wrote on the post of "Bukit Galla". On last December, one of the reader asking on the trail head on this mountain and end up they followed with a new trail started from Kampung Tekir Mentera and managed to reached the there.
On 18 February, we decided to revisit this place again, we found the car park area the small Hindu shrine but couldn't find the trail head as my last hiked. The previous trail head covered by a farm. After an hour of finding it, we decided to follow the trail next to the farm which lead us to a small stream. We found a trail with ribbon marking and decided to explored it by just followed the markers all the way up, so luck I managed to find the "Bukit Galla" yellow signboard there I know the trail maybe correct, continue straight till the false peak but the ribbon markers lead us downhill (I remember no downhill on my last hike), so end up lead us to a unknown peak.
After discussed with my uncle (who lead me there last time), we decided to explore it again on 26 February. Again he was not able find the previous trail head and no choice to follow back my last week trail. Passing the small waterfall - "Bukit Galla" yellow signboard - false peak but suddenly he said it was the right trail to Batu Pecah. This time we didn't follow the marking downhill and just continue straight, could notice a path but less people pass through, along the 5 minutes hike only found one marking in between. This path lead us to the T junction with ribbon marking trail, Turn right (down hill of course towards direction back to Kampung Tekir Mentera trail starting point). Turn left with few minutes hiked, finally reached Batu Pecah.
We didn't continue the path to Bukit Galla peak...reserve it on my next hike.
